Fishville Tips: When to Sell Your Fishville Fish

How do you know which fish to buy and when to sell them to get the most points? As you move up the levels in Fishville, you'll experience it for yourself and learn what's best - but, here are a few Fishville tips to get you started:

Each fish goes through four life stages - egg, baby, junior and adult. The longer you let the fish grow, the more coins and XP you'll get when you sell it. Just make sure you check your tank periodically. Some fish grow really fast - if you don't feed them on time, they could die and you'll lose the money you spent to buy them.

Each time you purchase a fish, the store tells you how long it will take to grow and how often you have to feed it, so you can schedule your time accordingly. For more information on which fish to buy, check out these Fishville tips.

When you buy a fish, the egg is dropped in the tank and it changes to a "baby" egg almost instantly. As long as the fish is a baby, it can't be sold. When you hover your mouse over the fish, it will tell you when to come back and feed it, and how long it will take to move to the next life stage.

After the fish reaches a "junior" stage, you can sell it for the same price you bought it for. This status has four levels - as the fish grows and your level increases, you'll be able to sell it for more coins and XP. Fish in this stage also don't need to be fed as frequently.

Here's a shot of one of my tanks in Level 12 - it has
a mix of Junior and Adult fish.

The last stage in the fish's life is an "adult." This stage also has four levels, and as the fish gets older, you'll get more coins and XP again. After it reaches the highest growth level, you can't get any more coins from it. Keep a close watch on your fish when it reaches this stage - if you leave it too long without feeding it, or let your fish get too old, it will die and you'll lose the money you spent on it.

Fishville Tips: Getting to the top...fast!

As soon as you get the hang of Fishville, you'll move up the Levels in no time flat. XP, or "experience points" are the key to moving through each level of Fishville. Most XP comes from buying and selling fish. The longer your fish live before you sell them (without dying), the more XP you'll get. So, an adult fish will get you much more than a junior fish.

Levels 1-3 only allow you 15 fish, but as soon as you reach Level 4, you get 30. This gives you a lot more opportunity to gain XP - you can raise several fish that take awhile to grow, and fill in the rest with ones that only take a few minutes.

As a rule, the longer a fish takes to grow, the more XP you'll gain when selling it. But, if you have a lot of time to spend with the game, buying a lot of quick growing fish can help you gain XP fast.
